Franco Harris, an American professional football player who played running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL), passed away on December 21, 2022, at the age of 72.

He played a significant role in one of professional football’s most well-known plays, which Pittsburgh sportscaster Myron Cope nicknamed “The Immaculate Reception.”

He was chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 13th overall choice in the first round of the 1972 NFL Draft after playing college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions. His first 12 seasons in the NFL were spent with the Steelers, and his final and final season was with the Seahawks. In 1990, he was admitted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
